A 5m optional drop into Ellis Park Swimming Pool. This is right at the end of the race for all to see...
The newly designed wake bridges (yes there are 2 of them, but you only need to run one) must be taken at speed, your weight on the bridge creates a bow wave in front of you as you run.
Don't skip arms day either...
One of the many built challenges on course, monkey bars are always tough
It is an epic view from the top of Ellis Park Stadium, well worth the run up
A fan favorite as we challenge you to pull a standing car in neutral 20m without moving your feet

We recommend a minimum age of 12 and that any minors are accompanied by an adult.
The routes are between 5km and 6km long. The distances are manageable for minors, but the challenges are not always.
You do not have to be the fittest or the fastest, you just need to have a keen sense of adventure.
If you can manage a 5km – 8km run, you should not have a problem.
It is kind of why you signed up right? To challenge yourself?
We are not slave drivers and we are not going to enforce that you complete every challenge, but at least give it a try.
If for any reason beyond our control the event is forced to cancel due to severe weather conditions, pandemic, act of God or insurrection or fires that puts athletes safety at risk, the athletes will not have any claim against the organisers or any of their sponsors of whatsoever nature in these circumstances. Jump City Challenge reserves the right to change the route for inter alia, safety and security reasons without notice. If the Jump City Challenge is cancelled in total as a last resort due to events beyond our control (force majeure) – relating to, inter alia, political turmoil, natural disasters, strikes, protest action or any other major disturbance beyond our control, athletes will have no claim whatsoever including but not limited to a refund against the organisers or any of their sponsors. This will include entry fees and or flights and other expenses. We will do everything in our power to reroute and to run the event in a safe and secure manner should any event of force majeure arise.
I have to pull out for some reason. What is the refund policy?
Please see our refund tiers and periods below : –
You can however sell your entry to somebody wishing to substitute in. You will need to follow our online substitution process.
No, you do not. If you cannot swim, we ask that you please do not jump off the high board.
We can do online substitutions up until 4 days before the event. To substitute, please follow the online process as we do not handle substitutions manually.
*Please note that we do not substitute within 4 days of the event for safety and legal reasons. All runners who enter with us are protected and indemnified.
All our batches are limited, due to this we cannot allow for any batch changes.
We design the challenges so that everybody can complete them.
The event is actually an adventure course, the challenges we put in are not always conventional OCR challenges.
The internet is not always our friend and we do not have control over where our emails go in your inbox.
Please check your spam, the mails are most likely there. If this is the case, remember to unflag the emails as not being spam.
Teams must consist of 4 athletes when entering. If you wish to run as a group of any other number, simply enter an individual batch for you and your crew.
Timing of the team is based on the collective time of the top 3 runners across the line.
If the event is listed as a series, then this means that results from the entire series will count. ie. 2 events.
If you choose to do just one event, your results will only count for that event. You will not qualify for prizes.
Series prizes are awarded at the end of the series.
That is a negative, we do not go into the ocean.
Right, let’s get you ready for race day. Before you head out there, please take a good read through the information below. Everything you need to know can be found here in the information below, we have 2 very serious rules here at the Stadium Dash 1. Have fun, we are serious about fun and adventure that is exactly what this event is built for. 2. Follow the signs, seriously though our signage competes with every other sign board in the urban environments. We are not hiding them from you, so just understand that each one leads to where the next sign is.
Now that you know the 2 major rules, lets look at what else you need to know : –
Where to park
We have secure parking at the venue, this is the Ellis Park Arena or as some of you may know it as the Standard Bank Arena. There is overflow parking opposite the Ellis Park Swimming Pool.
Start / Finish of the event
The event will be hosted from Ellis Park Arena, the start and finish of the event will be at the arena. This provides ample seating for spectators and athletes during the morning. Please enter through the swimming pool main entrance.
Number collection
Number collection will take place inside the Ellis Park Arena, this is assigned by surname. This will open at 06:15 am. The batch you chose will be allocated to you. Please note that we can no longer do batch changes.
Substitutions
Substitutions close on the 7th of March 2023 at 16:00. We cannot complete a sub after that. To substitute, please have the person stepping in fill out the entry process and close the page at checkout. Then drop us an email from the person consenting the substitution, please include the name of the person taking your place.
Spectators
Spectators are more than welcome to the venue, the best viewing points are inside Ellis Park Arena, Ellis Park Swimming Pool and Joburg Stadium. Please try avoid walking in the way of athletes, this is an active urban environment.
Route markings
The route is well marked with white boards and red arrows, each arrow will lead to the next. We also have blue and white danger tape preventing you from going off course. Please, never cross the bunting. You will then be off route.
Bag drop
There is a secure bag and key drop for you at the venue. This service carries with it a R20 cash fee. You can leave your equipment there and collect it using your wrist band number when you return.
At the venue
There is coffee, soft drinks and food available at Ellis Park Arena.
Results
Results will be posted live on the day of the event through the event website. They remain provisional for the 1st 48 hours.
Race images
We do have photographers on route. They will be snapping pics that take around 3 days to edit.
Prize giving
This will happen when 60% of the field has completed the race, we cannot give an estimate of when that would be at this point.
What if it rains?
It could rain, it could even snow but we will go ahead. Spectators will remain warm and dry but athletes will be getting wet anyway. Just enjoy living your best life.
Challenges on route
We have 24 challenges on route, well 24 built challenges. We do not count the stairs the spirals, the tunnels and all that jazz as challenges. The policy is that the Elite batch must complete all challenges, the elites are guided out by a lead bike who helps by supervising. As for everybody else, common, seriously, you are out there just give them your best shot. We are not going to penalize you for not finishing a challenge, we rely on your honesty. Yes, you can help others. But no kicking, biting, scratching or spitting at people trying to overtake you, deal? Good. Remember that we are out there for a good time, not a long time and this race is more about the adventure than anything else, so have fun and don’t be that super serious human. Our challenges our built for all levels of athletes and they will only be as hard as you decide to push yourself. Well mostly, some of them are just hard, good luck!
